Pawpaw Festival, Albany, OH

Mike and Kaye Smith, Fred and Bobbi Larimer, Brenda Krumlauf and I (John), headed south to Albany for the annual Pawpaw festival at Lake Snowden. The weather was perfect. We all arrived Friday afternoon to evening, setup camp, and enjoyed conversation and refreshments. Saturday morning, Kaye, Mike (still nursing injuries from the previous weekend mtb crash), Fred and I headed off on the Pawpaw 56 mile ride to Zaleski and back. The ride was scenic, with very little traffic. Only about 30 cyclists made the ride. Apparently more showed up for the Pawpaw beer! Below are a few pictures from Saturday.

 

Some of us throw a sleeping bag on the cold ground. Some of us pitch a tent. Fred and Bobbi level their pop-up and crank up the heat!!

 

 

 

The angle of the picnic table sort of says it all about the camping area. The rest of us "tent" goers had to find a spot as close to level as possible.

 

 

 

One thing for certain, we don't seem to ever worry about going hungry (or thirsty) on these bike trip/camping adventures!
