Miscellaneous Club Pictures
Recently a comment was made about the club being slow, because we stopped and waited for every rider to catch up. In fact, here's the quote. "As for lcbc, if you know of any beginning cyclists who maybe want to join a club but think they are too slow, send them to the lickingcountybicycleclub.com website and sign up. Good, kind and gentle cyclists, just not too fast.". Well, we actually take that as a compliment! Yes we are good, kind and gentle cyclists, and we have cyclists of all levels of experience. We try to encourage new riders, not to discourage them by leaving slower riders behind. Basically, we have a good time!!

To further emphasize the fact that we are "kind and gentle" cyclists, here's a picture of Ken Apacki picking up a snapping turtle that was in the middle of the road on one of our Tuesday morning rides. Ken was concerned that the turtle would be flattened by the next vehicle, so he risked life and limb to return the snapper to safety.
With directions from Mike Smith, Ken now has a firm hold on the snapper's tail. (OK Ken...now what are you going to do with it?) Soup was probably one thought, but being the kind, gentle, nature loving person that Ken is, he chose to relocate Mr. Turtle to safer ground.
Ken has decided that the little fellow is slightly heavier than initially expected. He's going for the "turtle toss" across the fence into the soft weeds. Mr. Turtle made a slight thud, but appeared to be unharmed. One had to wonder if this was the third time today that he's been trying to cross the road, and keeps getting thrown back to his beginning point by concerned citizens!!
